Cornhill Kindergarten - Vision Statement

At Cornhill Kindergarten we strive to create a happy atmosphere where learning is fun. Where children, parents and staff work and learn together and where each individual can develop to their full potential.

We believe children learn most effectively by using all their senses and through activities and first hand experiences of their own choice. Our environment is carefully planned to allow children to grow in independence.

Each child is unique and individual and has individual needs, which we strive to meet, celebrating diversity.

We aim to:

· Create a safe, secure and stimulating environment.

· Encourage children to grow in confidence and self-esteem.

· Create an environment where children are encourage to make choices and decisions and grow in independence.

· Plan learning opportunities to challenge all children, using all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage.

· Provide open-ended, responsive, appropriate learning opportunities.

· Promote a healthy lifestyle.

· Challenge stereotyping and discrimination.

· Encourage children to co-operate with and respect each other.

· Making the best of all the resources we have available to us.

We also aim to support parents in their role and value their contributions and knowledge of their own children.

We aim to provide supportive induction procedures and effective systems of communication.

Practitioners play an important role in our provision, and Cornhill Kindergarten aims to provide highly skilled, motivated and committed staff. We also aim to ensure that all staff have access to high quality ongoing professional development opportunities.
